JFV Ouranos is the largest study association at the Faculty of Law of Maastricht University. The assocation was founded in 1983 and has since grown to become the largest study association.
Our association is maintained by various students at the Law faculty of this university. We provide and organise events such as the book sale, study and city trips. Additionally, we organise numerous lectures, monthly gatherings, and large events such as the introduction day for first-year law students, called the Law Student Intro. During this day, new students get the opportunity to meet fellow freshmen, get to know Maastricht and build up a network they can use during their period in Maastricht. All in all, JFV Ouranos organises a large amount of social and academic events throughout the year, and is a consistent presence at the Faculty of Law in Maastricht.
Furthermore, Ouranos’ members get various discounts on their book purchases. Dutch books are sold with a 10% discount, and a 15% discount is available for international titles. The association also offers her members a discount or free access to numerous activities as named above. Moreover, Ouranos brings students in contact with leading law firms and contributes in expanding both your social as well as your professional network.
